Thank you for your interest in joining Servas. We are excited that you would like to become part of our international peace building network. Whether you become a host, a traveler or both you will encounter new cultures and perspectives and the friendships you form will build a stronger foundation for world peace!

Please visit our Types of Programs page for a description of all the programs listed below and visit our Rates and Fees page for a full list of membership rates and (express) postage fees. Check our host list statistics sheet to find out how many hosts we have in each country.

  6. Each adult traveler (aged 18 or over) is required to pay an annual membership fee of $85 ($50 for Domestic Traveler and $25 for Domestic Student Traveler). Children seventeen years old and younger may travel free with their parents.
    1. In addition, a refundable deposit is required for the loan of Servas Host Lists. The deposit is $20 for each set of up to five single country or regional host lists (e.g. $40 for 6 to 10 lists, $60 for 11 to 15).
    2. There is a non-refundable $5 shipping/handling fee for each set of 1 – 5 host lists.
    3. Your deposit will be promptly refunded to you if you return the host lists when you complete your travel, but no later than one month after your Letter of Introduction expires, and you complete a Travel Report and return it to US Servas after returning from your trip.
  7. Contact one of our volunteer interviewers to schedule a meeting, usually lasting up to two hours. You can find an interviewer in your community in the Interviewers Section or call the office at 707-825-1714 and we’ll help you find one.
  8. Take to the interview your two free-hand letters of reference or two completed reference forms.
  9. After you are approved by the interviewer, log back in to our website to pay the annual membership fees and Servas Host List deposit.
