US Servas Board Member
Occupation:Retired, although I drive a local school bus. I have held leadership positions with Hy-Vee Foods, American Red Cross, a variety of Food Co-ops Peace and Justice Ministry with Catholic Charities NGO Experience: I currently serve as an interim member on the US Servas Board of Directors. I have worked with a wide variety of boards both as a board member and as a staff person. All of the food co-ops I have worked with have extensive governance and policy procedures that I had key roles in following and implementing.

I have worked extensively with financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and budgets with both businesses and non-profits. I have appreciated my time as a volunteer for Servas as an interviewer. I especially enjoy getting to meet the usually very interesting people that want to be travelers with Servas. I have been the chair of a variety of boards including our local Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development organization. Currently I lead the finance committee of a non-profit board I sit on. | Ideas: I do not have a specific idea, but I think one of the key challenges is to attract young and non-typical travelers.
