Seeking Exceptional Young Leaders (Ages 18–30)
by Bill Magargal
US Servas frequently interfaces with other Peace and Justice organizations and looks forward to increasing connections with them. We recently received an email from Peace Pals International (see OD article) informing us of another worthwhile peace initiative for young adults aged 18 to 30. That is the State of the World Forum 2025, a gathering of 50 young leaders from around the world—young visionaries who are deeply committed to shaping a new story for humanity and the planet.
The original State of the World Forum was launched in 1995 by Mikhail Gorbachev and Jim Garrison to bring together global leaders, young people, indigenous elders, visionaries and change agents to engage with the defining issues of the era. It became one of the first high-level platforms to bring global diversity together to transform conversations that matter into actions that made a difference. It proved that when people gather with shared intention, something meaningful and transformational can happen.
The 2025 forum is a new iteration of the sessions, specifically designed to solicit ideas from visionary Youth Leaders. It is a global invitation to fifty young visionaries who are deeply committed to shaping a new story for humanity and the planet. This is your invitation to step forward. Applicants should be:
● Rooted in a deep sense of purpose
● Passionate about one or more of the following themes: • Indigenous Wisdom and Ancestral Knowledge • Cosmic Intelligence and Universal Consciousness • Artificial Intelligence in Service to Compassion and Love • Planetary Healing and Environmental Stewardship
● Willing to engage in sacred dialogue, collaborative creation, and emergent leadership.
We hope that younger Servas members will apply. Those selected will receive a full scholarship to participate in this prestigious gathering. It is a profound honor and responsibility—an opportunity to co-shape the world’s unfolding story. Here is a link to the Forum Application.
