East River Park Trails

Pioneer Hall is perched above the mississippi with only a short walk down to to East River park with about a 1-1/4 miles of walking trails. Some things to see include the UMN boathouse, Bridal Veil Falls (approx ½ mi.), a catwalk cantilevered over the water in some places, and at the end, another set of stairs that climb back up to another trailhead on East River Parkway (approx. 1 mi.) From there you can walk along the river parkway back to the conference venue.

If enough people are interested we will organize a group walk Sunday afternoon.

Optional Paddleboat Ride Sunday

Padelford Riverboats offers 90 minute cruises along the Mississippi that showcase the Twin Cities from a whole new perspective, offering breathtaking skyline views, local landmarks, and plenty of opportunities for photos.  Experienced guides who share fascinating stories about the area’s history, wildlife, and architecture as you glide down the river.
