Mark your calendars! On January 20th, join us for our January Monthly Meeting. We'll be discussing mental health of women and children in the context of COVID and Climate Change Date: Thursday, 20 January 2022 Time: 8:30-10:30am EST Find your timezone here.
Climate crisis, COVID-19 and mental health are terms that five years ago one would never discuss in the same context. Yet here we are in 2022 with the convergence of these somewhat disparate terms in a perfect storm barreling across the globe. Although the evidence highlighting the possible linkage between climate and the COVID-19 is still under investigation, the effect of both phenomena on mental health is abundantly clear. Stress, fear, guilt, isolation, a sense of hopelessness, anxiety, aggression, and depression are just some of the conditions that have been associated with both issues. Women of all ages and children are included among the most vulnerable groups and stand the greatest risk of experiencing these and other mental health challenges emerging during this critical period.
