Frost Valley YMCA Camp - Claryville, NY
Frost Valley YMCA Camp is nestled on 5,000 acres of forestland in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. See TRANSIT menu for transit options and directions for getting to the camp. This region is part of original ancestral lands of the Munsee speaking Lunaape and Mohican nations. It is only 2-½ hours from both NYC and the Finger Lakes wine country. See REGION menu, to plan a vacation around the conference. The camp includes a lake, waterfalls, streams, and hiking trails. The YMCA shares many of the values of many Servas members including peace, oneness of humanity, care for our planet, LGTBQ rights, gender equality, etc.
Pre / Post Conference Hosts in NYC
There are not many US Servas hosts in New York City due primarily to the small size of most apartments. If you want to be hosted in the city before or after the conference be sure to contact a host early to make arrangements as they are filling up quickly. Click the PDF image on this page to open the full list of hosts.
NOTE: All visitors and attendees must present photo ID at the welcome center to enter campus. Here you will receive your welcome packets and lodging assignments.
Frost Valley Accommodations • Prices for two-night stay and include bedding, linens, and towels
Each cabin has five bunkbeds, and a bathroom with shower. We are filling bunks with only one person, so you can store items on the other bunk. There are fire pits with wood near each cluster of cabins. The cost is $55 per person for a two-night stay. It is possible for a family or group of friends to rent a whole cabin ($270 per night plus towels and linens at $12 per person).
Four-Room Lodges ($85 or $140)
We have reserved four-room lodges near the conference hall. Each room has two bunkbeds and bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Two of the rooms have a counselor’s room with one bunk (a couple might want to share one?). Each lodge has a common sitting room with tables and chairs, and outside fire pit supplied with firewood. There are two options for these rooms... $85 per person for a room with four people, i.e. top and bottom bunks filled, or $140 for a room with only two people.
Each yurt has six bunkbeds (lower only) so you can store items on the other bunk. Bedding, linens and towels are included. A bathhouse is located a short walk away, complete with hot showers! Yurts are a short walk from the Dining Hall in Sequoia Village. And a beautiful outdoor stone fire ring rounds out the experience. The cost is $25 per person for a two-night stay.
Other Rooms ($330 to $380 )
Lakeview Lodge ($380 for 2 nights) has nice motel-style rooms with two double beds. The second option is the B&B-style Forstmann Castle ($330 for 2 nights) quaintly furnished with two XL-twin beds.
You must make reservations for these rooms by contacting Frost Valley directly: email@example.com, or call (845) 985-2291 ext. 450. Tell them you will be attending the US Servas conference. There are no one-night stay options for these.
Two miles from the camp is a rustic, 4-site private campground Burr Oaks Forest - Hip Camp. There are two NY State campgrounds in the area. The closest one (35 min.) is Mongaup Pond, with large wooded sites, many on the lake. It has some sites with full hookups. The second one is Woodland Valley (40 min.), with wooded sites in a secluded valley. Nearby private campgrounds with hookups include Neversink River, and Willowemoc. Both of these have full hookups. The accompanying photos are of Mongaup Pond, and Woodland Valley.
